Client: Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency
Project: Development and improvement of railway sections 2018–2023
The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency implemented one of its largest railway projects to improve the flow of freight traffic, operational reliability, and the service level of railway sections. The project involved fundamental improvements to the tracks and new track sections, enabling an increase in the mass of transported goods and the axle load of wagons from 22.5 tons to 25 tons. In addition, the project involved the construction of 19 kilometers of new double track and 12 new bridges.
Key implementations:
We manufactured, painted, and installed the steel frame for the new light traffic bridge in Sienimäki on behalf of GRK. The bridge frame was manufactured in our machine shop as a single assembly:
- Weight 23 tons
- Length 30.4 meters
- Width 5.6 meters
- The surface treatment was carried out in accordance with LIVI A1 requirements, ensuring the durability of the structure.
- We were responsible for transporting the finished frame to the construction site.
- The bridge was installed by lifting it into place and attaching it to the bearing plates.
The project was completed efficiently and on schedule, ensuring a safe and durable light traffic connection to the area.
